Pluto – Ice world on the outskirts (Infographic)
When I was growing up, the solar system was considered to have 9 planets. They were Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. That is in their respective order from the sun. To remember them we were taught a little mnemonic.
“My very eager monkey jumps sideways up Neptune’s pants.”
The first letter of each word in this sentence represents the first letter of a name of all nine planets. But, children no longer learn this rhyme because since then Pluto is no longer a planet. It has been reclassified as a dwarf planet.
Pluto was discovered on 13 March 1930 – So 13 March 2016 is Pluto’s 86th anniversary of discovery.
We are celebrating pluto’s anniversary with an infographic. Happy Anniversary Pluto!
